The Abel Foundation was created to aid the sufferers of Mitochondrial Disease and help their families deal with this life-threatening disease.  Currently there is no cure.

Our aim is to create a 24-hour support network via phone, email and text and be on hand to help people when they need support or even just someone to listen and can understand what they go through on a day to day basis.

As we grow, we aspire to provide onsite counsellors for hospitals and financial aid to those needing equipment and respite.

Abel Noakes was the inspiration for founding the charity which is named after him.  Born in September 2014, he has been battling with the disease all of his young life.  Abel's parents understand the challenges that parent's and carers face and set up The Abel Foundation to provide assistance to those dealing with this devastating illness.

At this important point in our journey we are now looking for several Trustees with the skills and expertise who can contribute broadly to the charity and lead the strategic direction of the organisation.  We are particularly interested in people with experience in Fundraising, Marketing Design, Website Skills, Governance and Media skills.  If you have any one of these please consider us.

We are ready to grow so if you have the passion and skills to make a difference, then we would like to hear from you.
