Becoming a volunteer was straightforward for me once I'd met with Christianne.  A number of opportunities were presented to me and I was able to seek one of those based on my interests at the time.  Since undertaking the role I've met new and interesting people, learnt some new skills and gained knowledge about the great outdoors that I didn't have before.  On top of all this, I feel proud to tell people I volunteer for a charity that supports and encourages conserving our natural habitats and living in more sustainable environments

Who Volunteers

  • John, long time unemployed. “ I didn’t know what to expect or whether I could do it on a regular basis. The volunteer centre arranged for me to help with a weekly lunch club in the kitchen. They made me so welcome. I now have had relevant training for kitchen work with a certificate, a uniform and a purpose. It has made me feel part of something, giving back, and not isolated”.
  • Breezie Project Service user George R. “ I really look forward to my weekly visits from Hannah, who is my volunteer support. She helps me sort out any issues with my Samsung tablet. We have a cup of tea and a chat and put the world to rights. I can now keep in touch with my family in Singapore via Skype and emails.
  •  Ray, full time work, volunteers to add another dimension to his life.” Becoming a volunteer was straightforward for me once I had met with Christianne. A number of opportunities were presented to me and I was able to seek one of those based on my interests at the time.
