Unity Volunteering was asked by Romsey Football Club to help them find some able bodied volunteers to clear and take down an old shed. Several phone calls later Unity put together a small team of committed volunteers to help with the task in hand.

With Transport arranged courtesy of Chris Daley (Unity Transport Manager), Christianne Ireland, Unity Volunteer Coordinator and the team of 4 volunteers (James, Graham, Stewart and Dan) arrived at the Romsey Football club venue.

Clare Crossland, Romsey Football Club Secretary met the team and showed them the ropes. After a brew ”the lads” set about the clearing the contents of the shed despite the winds blowing a gale and the rain beating down!

The next stage of the project will be the dismantling of the shed due to take place in the next couple of weeks, with help from local business” Clearitall” owned by Mr Edward Cain.

A fun but blustery day was had by all involved.

James, Volunteer from Andover said,   “The lads were eager to get involved with the project and it was great to see them all getting stuck in and working as a team. They could see the benefit of the project not only for themselves and their wellbeing, but to the wider community”.
